The Chamber welcomes the New Year traditionally on January 5th of every year by holding its annual New Year's Banquet at the Manoa Grand Ballroom in the Japanese Cultural Center Building.
Included in the program is one of the most beloved traditions in the Chamber's history, the performance of the "Shiranami Gonin Otoko," which marked its 62nd performance in 2009. This short play, which goes back to 1947, recruits Chamber members and officers to become actors in a traditional "kabuki" play.
