Premium Tasting Notes

Wine 1:  2007 Darioush Cabernet Sauvignon Signature.
Tightly wound, firm, intense and concentrated, with a mix of dark berry, roasted herb, espresso and pomegranate notes, gaining depth and complexity on the finish, where the mineral and black licorice flavors rise to the surface. Drink now through 2020. - Wine Spectator, 93.

Wine 2:  Vineyard 7 & 8, 2007 "Estate" Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley—Spring Mountain District.
The prodigious 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate looks terrific, with the most structure, minerality, and power of the two Cabernets, but beautiful blueberry and floral notes intermixed with camphor, creme de cassis, licorice, and forest floor. Full-bodied, with terrific texture, sweet tannin, and fabulous length and concentration, this is a wine to drink young or cellar for 25 more years. -The Wine Advocate, 94.

Wine 3: 2007 Ehlers Estate Cabernet Sauvignon - 1886 Napa Valley.
Smooth, rich and generous, full-bodied and intense without being heavy or ponderous, offering a mix of ripe plum, kirsch and wild berry. Holds its focus, ending with a long, layered finish. Drink now through 2017. -Wine Spectator, 92.

Wine 4: 2007 Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall Napa Valley.
The gorgeous 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon offers up notions of bay leaves, new saddle leather, black currants, blackberries, and spring flowers. Dense, full-bodied, and opulent, with superb purity and length, but no hard edges, it should age effortlessly for 15+ years. -The Wine Advocate, 93.

Wine 5: 2008 O'Shaughnessy Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain Napa Valley.
The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is comprised of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest six other grapes - Merlot, Malbec, St. Macair, Petit Verdot, Carmenere, and Cabernet Franc - and is aged 20 months in three-fourths French oak. It has a dense purple color, a wonderful, crystalline nose of crushed rock, camphor, creme de cassis and spring flowers, and a full-bodied mouthfeel. The tannins are moderately high, but they are soft and well-integrated. This is a wine of tremendous intensity and plenty of up-side. Give this wine 2-3 years of bottle age and drink it over the following 20-25 years. -The Wine Advocate, 94+ (To be released in Fall 2011)
