Acts as a liaison to the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii in perpetuating the Japanese cultural heritage in Hawaii and supports HJCC programs for the betterment of the cultural and economic environment. The main activity of this committee is to coordinate and plan the annual “Commitment to Excellence” Art Exhibition which is held at the Academy Art Center at Linekona School in August. The Exhibition provides a forum for local artists to show and sell their art works, thereby providing a venue for commerce. This program supports the belief that art plays an integral role in the diversification of our economy while also providing a cultural benefit to the community.
